Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a club for third and fourth graders who love to read and want to challenge themselves to read more. The purpose of the club is to encourage students to read classical books from a variety of different genres and to encourage a spirit of friendly competition. 

Each year America's Battle of the Books posts a list of 20 books for third and fourth graders. Students in the club must read at least ten of these books to participate, and if they are truly serious about competing, they will read all twenty. Once they have read the books, they will form teams to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. 

The MES team that wins first place will participate in a district competition.

Campus Battle will be announced at a later date. It will be around the end of March.

Sign-up flyers will be sent home the week of 9/9-9/13!

The club meetings will start on 9/27 and will meet every Friday morning from 7:45-8:20.
