My name is Joy Hebert and I am a first grade teacher. This will be my thirteenth year at MES and my thirty first year of teaching! My husband Roger and I are the proud parents of two daughters, both are graduates of MWHS. I earned my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Baylor University. Sic ' Em Bears! I also have a Masters in counseling from Houston Baptist University. My oldest daughter Elizabeth also graduated from Baylor University and earned a Masters in oboe performance from Rice University. Eleanor, my youngest daughter, will graduated in December from Texas A&M. I know this year will be filled with excitement, numerous opportunities for growth and learning, as well as an awesome adventure!

My homeroom will begin their day with Ms. Ranshaw teaching math,science and social studies. I will teach phonics, reading and writing to my homeroom after lunch.
Please have your child read and review their sight words on a daily basis for 10-15 minutes. Having your child read and practice sight words daily will help increase fluency and comprehension skills.
Each student will have a daily behavior folder. Please refer to the folder to see what your child earned for a particular day.
