All About Mrs. Murphy
ALL ABOUT MRS. MURPHY
I grew up in a small town called, Silsbee, TX in Southeast Texas about 2 hours away. Here, I graduated high school and then attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (a fancy word for “education”) with a focus in Early Childhood through 6th-grade. I am currently enrolled again in Lamar University to obtain my Masters degree in Educational Administration.
After college, I received my first teaching job in Livingston, TX teaching 6th-grade science. I stayed in Livingston for 2 years and then received a teaching job in the best school district in Texas, Magnolia ISD. I have worked in Magnolia ISD since 2013 and still know this is where I am meant to be. I have taught 3rd-grade & 2nd-grade at Smith Elementary in Magnolia, as well as 6th-grade Math at Magnolia Intermediate and Bear Branch Intermediate in Magnolia. This is my first year at Magnolia Elementary as an Instructional Math Coach, but it already feels like home! In total, I have taught 9 years and look forward to many more!
Outside of school, I love to read, cook, watch movies, & spend time with my family! I have 2 sons, Noah (who is in 8th-grade), and Cohen (who is in 1st-Grade), as well as a sweet Goldendoodle named, Jax (not currently enrolled in school).
