My name is Leslie Sims, and I am thrilled to be teaching 2nd Grade at Magnolia Elementary School.  I am teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies,  My partner/switch teacher this year is Maria Vazquez, and she is teaching the Language Arts (Reading and Writing Workshops).  I was born, raised, and attended college all in the great state of Texas.  My Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (teaching) was earned from The University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler,Texas in 1993. I have a total of 6 years experience being a full-time classroom teacher as I chose to be a stay-at-home mom with my own 2 children for 14 years. My daughter graduated from Magnolia High School in 2009, attended and graduated from NYU in New York City, and is now employed and living there in the city.  My son graduated from Magnolia High School in 2014 and is currently attending Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
I love children and am passionate about helping them learn and develop a love for learning!
