My name is Alison Love and I am the MES Librarian. This is my thirteenth year at MES, and my sixth year in the library. We are so excited to share our brand new library with our students and families! We were just renovated in the summer of 2016. Our students visit the library for a lesson every other week. Open checkout is available everyday for students that are ready for their next selection!
In the library your student will be encouraged to find books they are passionate about and explore topics of interest to them. Our fiction shelving has been reorganized by genre just like a bookstore! Students will be able to find books categorized by topic, such as humor, science fiction, mystery, and more. In addition to promoting a love of literature and reading, we will be learning about technology, digital citizenship, and research skills. In the library students will also have the opportunity to participate in Makerspaces, which involves critical and creative thinking through science and technology activities. Our lessons align with the state standards being taught at each grade level where classroom teachers and I work in tandem.
The library is always in need of parent support. Please consider volunteering for library events such as the book fair as well as helping with shelving and circulation!
